I loved it, but that music has to go.

From IMDB.
The music (organ) is impossible. It is the music as in the soap opera. The story is well written. The idea for the wife of Rocky King was original.

Subject: Charming early detective show
The DuMont Network's programming tends to be quirky, and this is no exception. Oh, and it was broadcast LIVE, just like a stage play.

The DuMont Television Network started broadcasting in 1946, and stopped broadcasting in 1956. They were the first American TV network. They created the first sitcom, the first soap opera, the first national religious program, the first science program, and the first Sci-Fi program. Basically, They invented much of what we take for granted today. DuMont also made Jackie Gleason a star, Created a sitcom which ran each weekday, gave Ernie Kovacs his own show, Created the first Reality TV show with "Cash and Carry", and even produced a national opera program. Doesn't that sound like a fun network?

But this is "Rocky King, Detective", a popular crime series which ran from 1950 to 1954, and is considered a "Cult Classic". What's unusual about this series was that is was done LIVE, on national TV!

It's believed that basically the entire DuMont Network archive was dumped into Upper New York Bay during the 70's, since nobody thought anyone would want to see it's programs again.

At least 37 episodes exist of "Rocky King, Detective" at the UCLA.

Overall it's a very good series, Quite enjoyable.
